- What is the difference between Bar Pro Academy and others schools?
Bar Pro Academy is the only fully licensed, bilingual, professional bartending school that combines the best of both the large and small institutions without compromising on the qualities of either. With more actual time of instruction than many large college programs (without the filler material) but at a turnover time and a price that is comparable to the many commercial photocopy courses that do nothing to prepare students for the actual industry.
- Is Bar Pro Academy’s program recognized?
Bar Pro Academy was created as a Private Career College and had to have it’s programs reviewed and approved by all the government agencies involved. Our federal accreditation makes the program tax deductible. Our registration with the provincial authorities allows us the legal use of real bar products and Bar Pro Academy’s curriculum is recognized as make-work training with local employment assistance programs.
- How long is the program?
Bar Pro Academy’s Bartending A-Z professional training program is available in a four or two-week format, that includes all of the supplemental programs and is also available within several different simultaneous schedules. Regardless of personal commitments, Bar Pro Academy has a timeframe to suit everyone. See our Prices and Schedules section for package details.
- How is the school set up?
The classroom combines a schoolroom setting with a bar facility to allow for easy instruction and actual hands-on practice. Real bar tools, products and equipment are used and students learn in a professional yet relaxed atmosphere.
- What certifications do students receive?
In addition to Bar Pro Academy’s recognized diploma and wallet certificate, students taking the complete program also receive the Ontario Smart Serve certification as well as the Canadian Group for Emergency Training first aid certification.
- Are all supplemental programs required?
Students who already have the necessary certifications or experience can easily opt out of the supplemental courses. See our Prices and Schedules section for package details.
- Are the programs available in both French and English?
Bar Pro Academy is a fully bilingual training institution and both the program instruction and student workbooks are available in both official languages.
- Is there a job placement program in place?
Anyone promising to find a job for you is lying. What a Bar Pro Academy does is give you the best tools, training and support, which allow you to find yourself a job and keep it. Bar Pro Academy does have a graduate availability system to allow bars and restaurants looking for trained staff to browse through and select potential employees from our list of qualified graduates. The Academy also supplies student help for charity and catering events that allows graduates to gain experience. Call us for details
- Will my government assistance pay for the program?
Yes, if you are receiving welfare or unemployment insurance benefits, the program is recognized and may qualify for subsidy. Talk to your worker about contacting us for more details.
